Yoga Classes

LightWorks Reiki & Yoga offers Yoga classes for all levels of Yoga Students.  Our classes are based on the
Hatha Yoga tradition which promotes the union of body, mind and spirit through traditional Yoga Asana (poses),
Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Meditation.  Our classes provide an eclectic mix of popular yoga “styles”
and a fun balance of movement and stillness. Yoga opens and strengthens the body, calms the mind and
cultivates inner transformation and peace. Yoga is a practice of living in the moment and celebrating life from
your heart.  Each class is an invitation to breathe, stretch, strengthen, tone and relax.  All our classes include time
practicing Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Meditation and Relaxation. Yoga is a full body-
mind workout.
Join us in practicing the art of being present in the moment and taking our practice from the mat into our daily
lives. Classes offer a brief centering meditation to bring you to your mat, breath-work to quiet your mind, warm-
ups to soften your body, asana to increase flexibility and strength while building your body-mind connection, and
relaxation to integrate your Yoga practice.  Our classes allow you to “start where you are” and to deepen your
practice at your own pace. Yoga is for Everybody!  

Hatha Basics:
This class is open to all levels of students and is particularly suited to beginners. Our Hatha Basics Class
introduces the fundamentals and builds on the foundations of  Yoga practice; breath, posture and concentration,
attitude, alignment and action. Focus is on building strength and endurance by creating a firm foundation in all
postures (asana) and deepening our exploration of the poses. The emphasis will be on basic Yoga asana and
breathing exercises to slowly  stretch, strengthen and tone the body.  In addition to regular practice, each week
will highlight one or two asana/poses which we will explore in depth. Sun Salutations may also be included in
this class. Use of props and modifications are taught and encouraged according to individual needs.  We will
learn new methods for enhancing health and vitality.  Students are guided to building and deepening their Yoga
practice at their own pace.

Hatha Multi-Level:
Open to students of all levels-brand new beginners to advanced- and students of all ages, Hatha Multi-Level
Class
, is a great way to begin and/or deepen your Yoga practice.  As in our Hatha Basics Class, the focus is on
building strength and endurance by creating a firm foundation in all postures (asana) and deepening our
exploration of the poses.  Sun Salutations are included in this class. Use of props and modifications, as well as
ways to deepen into the asana, are taught and encouraged according to individual needs.  Methods for
enhancing health and vitality and for bringing the Yoga practice from the mat into daily life are introduced and
explored.  Everyone benefits from this class!

Go with the Flow- In this class we practice both stillness and movement, linking both to breath and
linking postures with a flowing sequence and sun salutations. The postures stretch and strengthen your body,
the breath brings a deep awareness to your movement, and the mind quiets in the stillness.  This gentle to
moderate flow class is suitable for all ability levels.
